A globally recognized finance business recently refurbished their inner London office located in the heart of the financial district. Completed by HLW architects, the team leveraged their extensive experience in innovative design principles to bring to life a workspace that goes beyond conventional boundaries, emphasizing collaboration and productivity. Working alongside Acoufelt, three distinctive acoustical design features were implemented within the London office.
The installation of the following Acoufelt acoustic products—Printed acoustic wall panels, Fracture wall panels, and bespoke WoodBeQuietâ„¢ 3D panels—represents a tailored, cumulative approach to addressing the client’s unique workspace requirements. Placed strategically in semi-enclosed booths and informal breakout spaces, these finishes not only enhance the visual appeal but also effectively manage sound, fostering an atmosphere conducive to focused work and meaningful collaboration.
A string of small booths cut into the wall each features its own custom artwork, printed onto Acoufelt’s acoustic panels, and installed as a backdrop. Illuminated by strip LED lighting, the panels draw you in with their inviting patterns, designed to spark creativity. In a nearby open corner booth, a series of bespoke Fracture panels in the color ‘Oregano’ are carved with a hand-drawn grass-like pattern, adding an organic and earthy feel. Following this biophilic theme, a similar corner booth is lined with a highly customized 3D block-style feature wall in Acoufelt’s WoodBeQuietâ„¢ print, adding shadow, depth, and warmth with its wood-like print finish.
Accompanied by a minimum NRC rating of 0.45, each of these unique products contributes to an enhanced soundscape that promotes focus and undisrupted workflow. Additionally, all acoustic materials used are composed of a minimum of 60% recycled PET content, generated using 40% solar power.
HLW’s design captures the essence of the confidential client’s commitment to digital innovation, optimizing operations, and enhancing the overall employee experience. The result is a workspace designed for tomorrow, where innovation and acoustic excellence come together in perfect harmony.
