Designer: Resonate Interior Architecture
Location: Walkie Talkie Building, London, UK
Product: Fracture Acoustic Wall Panels | ‘Fineline’ Pattern | ‘Denim’ Colorway
Resonate Interior Architecture were tasked with the fitout for Appian’s new 8,000 square foot London HQ. Located on the 25th floor of the iconic Walkie Talkie building at 20 Fenchurch Street, the landmark location boasts panoramic 360º views over the city of London, making it ideal headquarters for the automation software corporation.  Â
The brief for Resonate was to ensure staff comfort and well-being was at the forefront of the design, with an emphasis on ensuring the workforce would return to the office with a newfound sense of excitement and motivation. Propelled by an ambitious growth strategy, both retaining and attracting new talent through attractive and functional interior design remained important. For the Appian office, as interpreted by Resonate Interiors, this meant maximising daylight and the beautiful city views, whilst accommodating a mix of working arrangements including open-plan desks, quiet work settings, formal meeting spaces, phone rooms and breakout areas, executed with an overarching ‘resi-mercial’ feel. Â
Naturally, quality of lighting and acoustics became driving factor for this project, with Resonate Interiors opting to cover roughly 30% of office walls with acoustic products. Selected for their strong sound absorption capability and unique textured pattern, Acoufelt’s custom Fracture ‘Fineline’ panels in color ‘Denim’ were installed on reception and boardroom walls, providing a cool contrast to the feature wood-grid ceiling, and yellow and orange furnishings. The vertical, parallel lines also add an element of depth to the space, whilst also acting to absorb excess sound and reduce noise reverberation. Â
With ‘Treading Lightly’ being a core company value, Resonate Interiors are driven by sustainable design principles concerning indoor air quality, waste reduction, durability, and energy efficiency, and are also committed to sourcing 75% of products within a 100-mile radius of any project. As such, the team were delighted to uncover that Acoufelt’s Fracture panels are ‘Made in Britain’ accredited, comprised of a minimum 60% recycled PET, generated using 40% solar power, and achieve Gold certification for Indoor Air Quality. Â
The project is a perfect marriage between beautiful, functional and sustainable design, and Acoufelt are delighted to have helped bring Resonate Interior’s vision to life.Â
