When Talon, one of the UK’s leading out-of-home media agencies, set out to create a new headquarters in the heart of Soho, the ambition was clear: build a space that reflected the company’s entrepreneurial energy while supporting the needs of a growing global business.Â
Designed by Gensler, the workplace balances creativity, collaboration and comfort. At the centre of the brief were two meeting spaces that needed to work hard acoustically while feeling warm, welcoming and visually refined. Acoufelt was tasked with creating bespoke ceiling solutions that would seamlessly integrate into the architecture, elevate the interior aesthetic and support high-performance communication.Â

Acoufelt developed two custom Framework ceiling installations in Flint, designed specifically for an eight-person and an eighteen-person meeting room. The solution was carefully tailored to complement the wider interior palette of natural timber, terracotta tones and soft neutrals.Â
What makes the project particularly unique is what isn’t immediately visible. Each framework was engineered around integrated lighting, speakers and conferencing technology, creating a central cavity that allowed essential services to disappear into the design. The lighting dimensions were meticulously coordinated with the meeting tables below, ensuring both visual balance and optimal functionality.Â
Unlike conventional ceiling treatments, these frameworks were recessed into the ceiling structure, creating a clean architectural finish that feels effortless. The result is a feature that performs acoustically while appearing as though it was always intended to be part of the building.Â
This project presented a challenge that was less about product design and more about engineering precision.Â
The client’s vision was highly defined from the outset, leaving little room for standard solutions. The bespoke framework design required Acoufelt to create a structure unlike any it had produced before. With a large open cavity at its centre to accommodate lighting and technology, the framework needed to remain perfectly straight, structurally sound and easy to install.Â
The recessed ceiling detail added another layer of complexity. Every component had to fit seamlessly within the available ceiling void while concealing mechanical and electrical services above. Achieving this level of integration required close collaboration across the project team and careful consideration of how the product would be manufactured and installed.Â
The payoff was significant. By combining acoustic absorption with integrated technology and architectural detailing, Acoufelt delivered a solution that addressed multiple challenges through a single, elegant intervention.Â
