Acoufelt expands award-winning WoodBeQuiet™ plank collection with 6 new colorways.

WoodBeQuiet™ plank is Acoufelt’s award-winning wood lookalike product that delivers on visual authenticity, acoustic performance, sustainability and ease of install – without sacrificing a single tree. Acoufelt’s premium FilaSorb™ acoustic material is cut into planks, and printed with high-resolution scans to mimic the unique look of real woodgrain.

Unlike real wood, however, WoodBeQuiet™ planks achieve an acoustic Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.45, and are made from more than 60% recycled PET material. The progression of the WoodBeQuiet™ design journey has resulted in six new unique wood grain colourways: ‘Charred Larch’, ‘French Bobbin’, ‘Loft’, ‘White Elm’, ‘Antique Chest’ and ‘Board Walk’. Years of research informs the colour selection, with insights collected from the latest industry forecast platforms and a wide network of professional influences.

Across the range, the 200 x 1000mm planks are expertly shaped and bevelled, emerging with all the visual nuances of real wood. Meticulous planning in the design stage has also ensured that each of the 15 planks within a carton of WoodBeQuiet™ features a unique wood grain print; delivering on a truly authentic wood finish. Planks are also much lighter than real wood, and can be easily installed to interior walls and ceilings with a user-friendly ‘Peel and stick’ backing – no adhesive required.

Since its release in 2019, WoodBeQuiet™ planks have been featured in numerous high-calibre projects around the globe, and in 2020, received a prestigious Good Design Award Winner Accolade in recognition of outstanding design and innovation.

The collection was praised by the jury as “a great product for interior designers to specify. The commercial application of the WoodBeQuiet™ material is versatile with widespread application. (We) commend the use of recycled material in the manufacture of this product.”

Now with 11 unique woodgrain colourways to choose from, designers are given the freedom and flexibility to incorporate the beautiful and natural ‘look’ of real wood into interior projects, yet foster a comfortable soundscape for occupant’s productivity, creativity and well-being.
