Premier is Acoufelt’s high quality felt material, used as the primary component in a number of our products. Premier felt is designed for acoustics, sustainability, human safety, depth of color and smooth surface printing.
This is delivered through calibrated high-quality sourcing and manufacturing processes. Premier is made from a substantially heterogeneous blend of fine fibers; different denier combined for specific acoustic results.
Beginning with careful sourcing, through to skilful manufacturing, Premier is quality controlled at every step. Fine fibers of different denier are blended to create material in a range of thicknesses with strong acoustic properties. The specialized construction ensures a highly active surface area for sound absorption, and a greater area for dispersion of sound.
We view waste as a resource in the manufacture of our Premier, incorporating a minimum of 60% recycled PET material. Every square meter of Premier diverts on average approximately 108 x 600ml PET drinking bottles from landfill. To close the loop on the circular economy, products made from Premier can be recycled again at the end of their useful life.
Fibres within the Premier blend are selected and sourced from a small group of trusted suppliers. By combining fibres of different colour tones and thicknesses, Acoufelt maintains a high level of control over the colour finish, evidenced in the depth and strong saturation of colour of Premier products.
We’ve tested the Light Reflectance Values (LRV) of each of our Premier colours, to ensure you can select the optimal shades for your design projects.
The smooth surface of Premier felt allows our acoustic products to be printed with high precision, without impacting acoustic performance. With QuietPrint™, each fibre is coloured with high precision, ensuring the airgaps in our Premier acoustic material remain open to absorbing sound.
